From the Tram: Palm Springs Views

No matter how many times I ride, there’s something unforgettable about being pulled 8,000 feet up the mountain. As a member, I get to go often, and each ride offers something new. This photo collection captures those moments from the tram, both on the ascent and descent.

- If it’s your first time (or it’s been a while), I’ve included a few helpful tips below.

#1: When the tram reaches one of the prominent white pillars, it will rock back and forth slightly, giving a similar sensation to riding a Ferris wheel. It's unnerving, but it helps when you are mentally prepared.

#2: The floor rotates. Often, visitors unknowingly grab onto the railing along the inside of the tram as they board. Not knowing that as soon as the tram departs, the ground rotates, and the bars you want to hold onto will slowly drift away from you. This helps travelers see from a 360-degree perspective.

#3: The last tram returns around 9 PM. After realizing this, I often take a tram up the mountain in the afternoon, right around sundown, during the summer months. I'll go for a walk in the nature area and then return home before 9 PM. This helps me make it through summer heat, I can summon fresh, cool air, and a safe place to go for a walk.
