About
Linda Evans is the longtime mayor of La Quinta, California, first elected mayor in 2014 after serving on the La Quinta City Council beginning in 2009. A California native and healthcare executive, Evans is Chief Strategy Officer of Community Advocacy for Desert Care Network and has spent decades working in hospital administration, community outreach, and regional healthcare strategy. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications/Public Relations from Cal State Fullerton and master’s degrees in Health Administration and Gerontology from the University of La Verne. As mayor, Evans is known for her focus on fiscal responsibility, public safety, economic development, health and wellness, parks, trails, infrastructure, and the long-term future of La Quinta’s Highway 111 corridor. She was named “Woman of the Year” for California’s 42nd Assembly District in 2016 and remains one of the most visible civic leaders in the Coachella Valley.
