The club combines daily-use facilities with a rotating calendar of experiences: beaches and water recreation, restaurants, fitness, courts, studios, classes, events, excursions, and the Incredibles 2-inspired Parr House.
This is not a traditional golf country club. Cotino has no golf course, and the club's identity is built around water, wellness, creativity, dining, social connection, family visits, and Disney storytelling. The closest comparison is a beachfront resort club translated into a residential community - with amenities intended for repeated everyday use rather than a short hotel stay.
Current public membership information limits applications to individuals who own a residence in Cotino. Ownership creates eligibility to apply; it does not create an automatic membership right. Each applicant remains subject to the club owner's acceptance, current capacity, rules, and availability. Resident Extended Membership is specifically described as subject to limited availability.
Resident vs. Resident Extended Membership
The most important difference between the two tiers is not a publicly advertised upgrade in facilities. It is the group of relatives who may be carried on the membership account.

Resident Extended Membership is therefore best understood as the multigenerational tier. Its financial premium is $8,000 more in annual dues and a $1,000 higher annual food-and-beverage minimum. Its value case depends largely on whether children, their spouses or partners, grandchildren, parents, and grandparents will use the club often enough to justify being included directly on the account.
Disney states that benefits may vary by membership type, so the two tiers should not be described as operationally identical. However, the current public comparison does not identify a separate luxury lounge, different beach, upgraded restaurant access, or another enhanced physical amenity reserved only for Extended members.

The future public-facing Cotino Bay Beach, Dining and Shops district is anticipated to open in late 2026. Its public beach, restaurants, retail, and day-ticket system are separate from the Artisan Club. A Cotino homeowner who does not join the club may eventually be able to purchase admission to the public beach like another visitor, but that does not create access to the club's private beaches, clubhouse, restaurants, or other member facilities.
Private Beaches and Cotino Bay Recreation
Cotino Bay is the visual and recreational center of the Artisan Club. Current official materials describe designated swim zones, including one zone that may be heated as needed, private white-sand beaches with umbrellas and seating, and access to kayaks and paddleboards.
The current Cotino site plan names three private beach areas: Artisan Club Beach, Prismatic Beach, and Serenity Beach. Public materials do not clearly explain whether each beach has a different age policy, mood, reservation system, or intended use, so those distinctions should not be invented.
Member beach access supports several kinds of use:
Swimming within designated zones
Relaxing on private white-sand beach areas
Kayaking and paddleboarding on Cotino Bay
Reserving select cabanas for an additional fee
Ordering food and beverages with server assistance in reservable cabana areas
Moving between beach time, Plot Twist, the pool, and other club facilities
Membership provides access to this recreational environment; it does not mean every related item is complimentary. The site plan describes kayaks and paddleboards as rentals, the current club page prices cabanas separately, and Disney repeatedly notes that certain amenities and offerings may carry added fees.
Architects Fork and Plot Twist
Dining is not a secondary clubhouse concession at the Artisan Club. Architects Fork and Plot Twist are two distinct social settings with their own menus, design stories, and relationship to Cotino Bay.
Architects Fork
Architects Fork is the club's signature table-service restaurant. Disney describes it as an architectural drawing room reinterpreted as a dining space, serving elevated California cuisine and craft cocktails. Official materials say breakfast, lunch, and dinner selections are offered, although current menus, pricing, hours, and reservation policies can change.
The interior functions almost like a small design archive. Artwork and technical concepts from Disney history appear throughout the restaurant, including material connected to "it's a small world" and Big Thunder Mountain. Disney has also highlighted Mary Blair artwork, a Bruce Bushman sketch of Sleeping Beauty Castle, and a Ken Chapman mockup of Disney's Contemporary Resort.
That makes Architects Fork one of the clearest examples of Cotino's approach to Disney storytelling. The references are built into art, architecture, and craft rather than presented as theme-park spectacle.
Plot Twist
Plot Twist is the more relaxed waterfront counterpart. The current club page describes it as an outdoor restaurant and bar serving items such as craft burgers, seafood, salads, bowls, island cocktails, craft beer, and frozen beverages.
Its design theme is literature. Passages, illustrations, and story fragments from historic tales that influenced Disney films are incorporated into the setting, with official coverage specifically pointing to Alice in Wonderland and Cinderella references. Lounge seating and views across Cotino Bay make it a natural gathering place before or after the beach, pool, courts, or a more formal meal at Architects Fork.
Food and drinks at both venues remain member purchases. Membership creates access to the dining experience; it does not make meals part of the annual dues.
Wellness Center, Pool, Spa, and Fitness
The Wellness Center is the practical everyday core of the club. Current descriptions identify:
Cardio equipment

A movement studio for yoga, Pilates, dance, and other classes

Locker areas
The lap/leisure pool and spa create a more predictable place for swimming and aquatic exercise than the larger Cotino Bay environment. Official images and opening coverage show lap swimming positioned beside the fitness facilities, while the whirlpool and leisure portion support recovery and relaxation.
Optum facilitates the club's wellness program, with a dedicated onsite team, personalized resources, nutrition and fitness coaching, and a mix of conventional and Disney-inspired classes. Publicly promoted class concepts include:

Pickleball and Tennis
The Courts at the Artisan Club give the membership a significant racquet-sports component. Cotino's current community site plan identifies six lighted pickleball courts and two lighted tennis courts.
Lighting matters in the Coachella Valley because it expands usable court time beyond the hottest part of the day. The combination also gives pickleball more capacity than tennis, which fits the sport's strong local demand while preserving traditional tennis access.
Public marketing does not publish the current reservation window, guest charges, clinic schedule, open-play format, ball-machine availability, or tournament calendar. Those operating rules should come from the current member portal rather than a general community guide.
The Creative Studios
Official materials describe two creative studio spaces, sometimes labeled collectively as the Creative Studio or The Studios. They are multipurpose rooms for artistic pursuits, visiting speakers, hands-on workshops, member-led clubs, private events, and other programming.
The Studios also continue the club's emphasis on original art. Disney's opening materials identify work by Disney Legends Mary Blair and Marc Davis, along with pieces commissioned from local Palm Springs-area artists. This pairing matters: the club is not only displaying Disney history; it is connecting that history with the living creative culture of the Coachella Valley.

The physical facilities explain only part of the membership. The other half is programming and service.

Membership also extends beyond the physical club through an official on-demand video library. The visible 2026 catalog includes programs such as Stories from Walt's Office, Tales from Walt's Plane, Learn to Draw: Mickey Mouse, Behind the Seeds at The Land Greenhouse, Mindful Moments: Disney at Night, yoga sessions, Disney history, National Geographic features, and creative lessons.
The individual titles may rotate, but the library gives members another way to use the programming component from home or while away from Cotino.
Service by Disney Cast Members
As of 2026, the club's service structure includes Disney Cast Member teams for member services, operations, culinary offerings, entertainment, communications, and events. Public descriptions say those teams assist with dining, activities, event-space bookings, membership questions, social and recreational experiences, and keeping members informed about the calendar.
That service layer is one of the Artisan Club's most meaningful distinctions from an ordinary HOA amenity center. It is also a current operating feature rather than a perpetual contractual promise: official disclosures say future ownership, management, branding, amenities, and programming may change.
Parr House
Parr House is the club's signature special-occasion venue. Inspired by the family home in Disney and Pixar's Incredibles 2, the six-bedroom retreat was designed by Walt Disney Imagineering and built by Davidson Communities.
The completed building includes a living room, kitchen, bar, boardroom, art studio, and covered patio. Members may use it for club events, private celebrations, milestone gatherings, and limited overnight stays.
The design translates the exaggerated mid-century modern language of the film into a functional Rancho Mirage setting. Details include the rockwork fireplace, yellow laminate kitchen cabinetry, Fiber O's and Sugar Bombs cereal boxes, the Parr family calendar and bulletin board, a Mr. Incredible Sings record, Dash's New Math for Life textbook, and Edna Mode-inspired magazine covers.

Disney's June 2026 sheet also lists up to 10 unaccompanied guest passes annually, with the number depending on the membership start date. The public sheet does not explain accompanied-guest limits, blackout dates, age restrictions, whether every facility is covered, or which guest activities carry separate fees.
The safest interpretation is that membership creates a framework for sharing the club, not unlimited guest access. Current club rules should control restaurant reservations, beaches, cabanas, courts, classes, watercraft, special events, and Parr House use.
Rental access is another unresolved public question. Current eligibility is framed around Cotino owners, and a club membership should not be advertised as automatically transferring to a tenant or future buyer. A resale buyer must separately apply and be accepted. Tenant privileges, eligible-designee rules, membership suspension, and title changes should be confirmed in writing before a home is marketed with club access.

The membership is harder to justify for an owner who expects infrequent visits, prefers private amenities at home, will rarely use programming, or does not value the club's social and service layers. In that situation, the dues may purchase access that remains mostly unused.
Resident Extended Membership deserves an even more practical test. Its higher recurring cost is not publicly tied to a better gym, beach, restaurant, or pool. Its value rests primarily on bringing a larger family network onto the account.

Public sources explain the shape of the membership, but the private Membership Documents define the obligations. A current review should answer:
How and when are annual dues, the initiation fee, and the food-and-beverage minimum billed?

The Artisan Club is the clearest expression of what makes Cotino different from a conventional luxury subdivision.
