Sun City Shadow Hills Floor Plans: Compare 36 Models
Compare original layouts across all three phases, check guest and office needs, and build a shortlist for your home tours.
Choosing a Sun City Shadow Hills floor plan starts with picturing everyday life inside it: where guests sleep, whether an office stays available during a visit, how groceries reach the kitchen and what fits in the garage. This guide brings together 36 original reference drawings with interactive comparisons to help turn unfamiliar model names into a practical shortlist of homes to tour.
- Explore 36 plans across three phases. Search the original drawings by model, size, bedrooms, bathrooms, series, garage arrangement and casita.
- Compare how the rooms work together. Put up to three plans side by side, enlarge the drawings and see what the difference in square footage actually provides.
- Keep optional rooms separate from the reference layout. A third-bedroom option may use the den; a golf-cart bay or powder room may be an upgrade.
- Build a shortlist for real home tours. Use the guest-and-office planner, share a comparison and check the same priorities in every home.
Explore and compare the floor plans
Start with a model name or a few requirements. Select Compare this plan on two or three cards to see the drawings, room arrangements and garage details together. The optional-configurations switch expands the search only to alternatives illustrated on the sheets.

Will the office still work when guests stay?
A guest bedroom can double as an office until both uses are needed at once. This planner reserves one primary bedroom, adds the number of guest bedrooms needed simultaneously, and checks whether a separate den must remain available.
This checks the main illustrated configuration and resets the explorer’s other filters when applied. It does not test room size, legal bedroom status or sound isolation. Casita bedrooms are included. Optional alternatives can be explored separately.
Understand the three phases and four series
Phase and series answer different questions. The phase organizes the development; the series groups the home designs. Phase 2 contains both the Shadow and Santa Rosa series, with a broad range of sizes. A phase number alone does not describe a home’s room arrangement.

Many Living Well sheets illustrate alternate dens, retreats, sunrooms, powder rooms and garage extensions. Follow the option labels individually: alternatives on one sheet are not a promise that every feature can coexist in one home.
Four comparisons that make the differences clear
Similar room count, different office position
Avalino vs. Madera
Both show two bedrooms, a den and two bathrooms. Avalino’s den is near the front foyer; Madera’s is beside the rear great room and primary bedroom. The difference is only 91 sq ft, but the den’s location changes the path to a quiet work space.
The third bedroom uses the den
Inspiration vs. Hospitality
Inspiration’s main drawing has two bedrooms plus a den; its third-bedroom option uses that den. Hospitality shows three bedrooms without a separate den. The plans differ by 96 sq ft, so decide whether a third sleeping room or an always-available office matters more.
Extra rooms or extra car bays?
San Benito vs. San Rafael
San Benito combines two bedrooms, a den, a hobby room and labeled cart space. San Rafael adds a third bedroom and a powder room, with a three-car garage. Its additional 240 sq ft supports a different mix of rooms and parking.
Two ways to host in a casita
Sorrano vs. La Paz
Both drawings show two main-home bedrooms, a den and a separate casita that brings the bedroom total to three. La Paz adds 856 sq ft, a powder room and labeled garage cart space. Compare the routes between the casita, kitchen and main living area.
Read the drawing in the order the home will be used
Follow the everyday routes
Trace garage entry → kitchen → pantry, then bedroom → laundry and great room → patio. Look for traffic cutting across a seating area, an awkward grocery route or a patio reached through a room that needs to stay quiet. A broad room can lose usable furniture space to doors and circulation.
Count bedrooms and dens without double-counting
A separate den provides another room while the guest bedroom is occupied. A bedroom/den alternative provides a choice of uses for one space. Inspiration makes the distinction visible: choosing bedroom three consumes the den. Connect and Californian illustrate optional den arrangements; those options are identified separately in the explorer.
Check guest privacy and bathroom access
Gathering and Merida each show three bedrooms, but Gathering has three bathrooms while Merida has two. On Sorrano and La Paz, one bedroom is in the casita. Ask whether guests need their own entrance, a private bath or simply a bedroom away from the primary suite.
Read the garage labels literally
San Rafael, San Sebastian and Dorado label three-car garages. San Benito, Castellano, San Emilio, San Miguel, Terraza and La Paz label two-car garages with cart space. Del Oro labels extra storage. Clear dimensions, doors, cabinets and vehicle sizes determine what actually fits.
Interior size and optional additions are different questions. The explorer uses reference living-area figures. A sunroom, retreat, casita option or altered enclosure can produce a different total in a listing. The garage and covered patio are not automatically interior living area.
Bring the same checklist to every tour
Use the drawings to choose contrasting homes, then test the same requirements inside each one. These checks reset for the next tour; the print button includes them with the selected drawings.

Turn the shortlist into a home search
Keep two or three contrasting layouts in the comparison, copy the shortlist and use the matching bedroom, bathroom and size requirements in Bloom. A model name may be missing or misspelled in a listing, so the search should also reflect the room arrangement. After the first tours, refine the requirements based on what worked in person.

Sun City Shadow Hills floor-plan questions
How many Sun City Shadow Hills floor plans are included?
The explorer includes all 36 reference plans linked by the community association, organized into four series across three development phases. Reference sizes range from 1,099 to 2,971 square feet. Builder options and owner changes create additional variations within those model names.
Which plans have two bedrooms plus a separate den?
Examples include Montoya, Serrente, Avalino, Madera and San Benito. The explorer can filter for two bedrooms and a separate den together. The room must remain separate from the required bedrooms; Inspiration’s optional third bedroom uses its den.
Which plans show a separate casita?
Sorrano and La Paz show a separate front casita. Their three-bedroom totals include two bedrooms inside the main home plus the casita bedroom. Confirm the actual property’s guest accommodation, bathroom access and route into the main living area.
Which plans show a three-car garage?
San Rafael, San Sebastian and Dorado explicitly label three-car garages on the reference sheets. Other plans may label two cars plus cart space or show an optional golf-cart bay. Those arrangements are separated in the explorer, and clear dimensions still need to be measured in the actual home.
Why might a listing differ from the reference drawing?
Original options, mirrored layouts, additions, room conversions and measurement sources can change the reported size or room count. Some reference-sheet headers also contain discrepancies, including Hospitality and Californian. The explorer explains those corrections and links to the original documents; the home itself still needs to be checked.
Sources and floor-plan notes
Reviewed September 5, 2026. The explorer includes the 36 plan names and PDF sheets linked by the Sun City Shadow Hills Community Association. Original builder options and later owner changes mean these are reference designs, not a complete record of every built home.
- Sun City Shadow Hills Community Association: original floor-plan directory. Each enlarged drawing and the full index link to its individual PDF.
- Association homes overview: three-phase development, single-level homes and changes to resale layouts.
- Legacy phase and series index: used to cross-check series grouping; historical prices and fees on this page are not used.
- Legacy model-size index and Californian model reference: corroboration for conflicting size labels.
Source discrepancies: Hospitality’s association sheet says 2,023 sq ft, matching Haven’s figure; the explorer uses the separately corroborated 1,756-sq-ft reference. Californian’s association header is malformed as “2,2656”; the explorer uses 2,656 sq ft. San Sebastian uses the association sheet’s 1,753 sq ft. Individual listings can report other measurements.
Room-count method: the main illustrated arrangement is used by default. Hideaway and Inspiration are represented as two-bedroom layouts with a separate den; their retreat alternatives can reduce the bedroom count. Inspiration’s third-bedroom option removes the den. Optional configurations must satisfy the bedroom, den and bath filters together. Casitas are included in Sorrano’s and La Paz’s three-bedroom totals. A den is not automatically a legal bedroom.
Drawing notes: original sheets are reproduced without changing their labels. Interpretive layout notes come from reading the drawings. Sheets are resized independently, are not shown at a common scale, and are not a substitute for measuring a home or reviewing its records. Phase and series assignments organize model references; confirm the location of the actual property.
