PGA West Signature brings a more recent generation of desert homes into one of La Quinta’s best-known golf settings. Tile roofs, private courtyards and pools sit beside broad fairways, while the Santa Rosa Mountains give the neighborhood its unmistakable backdrop.

Signature is a specific gated residential community within the larger PGA WEST setting. Its own resident clubhouse, mix of attached and detached homes, and different building collections make it worth understanding separately from the surrounding country-club neighborhoods. These six aerial photographs were captured by Mark Miller on November 5, 2026, during a flight launched from the parking area at Ernie’s.

Where Signature sits in La Quinta

Signature is in south La Quinta along the PGA Boulevard corridor, south of Avenue 54 and close to the PGA WEST Tournament Clubhouse. The clubhouse area and Ernie’s provide useful landmarks for understanding this part of PGA WEST; residential access still follows the neighborhood’s gate and guest procedures.

The aerial views show its relationship to the surrounding landscape: residential streets gather in a compact neighborhood, golf opens up along portions of the perimeter, and the mountains rise beyond the wider PGA WEST community. Explore La Quinta for the city’s other neighborhoods, places and outdoor settings.

What the aerial photographs reveal

The neighborhood has more variety than a single distant view suggests. Some homes back toward a fairway, with pools and patios between the house and the course. Others face inward across residential streets. Rooflines vary between lower single-story forms and taller sections, and several homes have rooftop solar panels.

These differences change the experience at ground level. A golf-facing yard may have a long outlook but also a visible cart path. An interior location can feel more enclosed, with privacy shaped by neighboring homes, walls and windows. Pool size, covered outdoor space and the direction of afternoon light deserve as much attention as the broad community name.

The homes and building collections

Signature developed in stages. PGA WEST’s 2013 announcement described the original Estates, Haciendas and Villas, including detached houses and attached condominium homes. California West was identified with the early Signature development. Later, Woodbridge Pacific Group introduced the Citrine, Topaz and Jewel collections.

The later builder collections added a range of single-story and two-story designs. Topaz was introduced with single-story plans, Citrine with both configurations, and Jewel with paired and detached homes. This history matters because “Signature” does not describe one floor plan, one size or one exterior-maintenance arrangement.

For a particular residence, establish the collection, living-area configuration, bedroom placement, stairs and garage layout. An aerial photograph can explain the site and neighboring buildings; it cannot establish the interior plan or legal ownership form.

The Signature Clubhouse and resident amenities

Signature has its own private resident clubhouse. The builder identifies a community pool, fitness center, outdoor barbecues and meeting rooms. This gives the neighborhood a recreation hub separate from an individual home’s backyard amenities.

The distinction between a private pool and a community pool is useful here: a home may have its own outdoor entertaining area while also being part of a neighborhood with shared facilities. Current owner, tenant and guest access should be confirmed through the applicable association.

The larger court complexes visible beyond Signature in some photographs belong to the broader PGA WEST setting. Their appearance in the background does not mean that access is automatically included with a Signature residence.

Golf and PGA WEST membership

Golf is both a major part of the scenery and a separate access question. PGA WEST offers resort tee times on the Stadium, Nicklaus Tournament and Greg Norman courses, with the Mountain and Dunes courses also part of its wider resort offering. Reservations, rates and seasonal maintenance govern public play.

Private-club privileges follow the applicable membership. Woodbridge Pacific’s Signature materials describe buyers applying for and selecting a club membership. Older Signature marketing described different bundled social benefits, so an original sales brochure should not be treated as a current promise for every resale.

Ownership, Signature’s neighborhood amenities and current PGA WEST club privileges should each be confirmed separately for the property. No current initiation fee, club-dues figure or universal HOA amount is quoted here.

The Santa Rosa Mountains and the view

The Santa Rosa Mountains are one of the strongest visual features of south La Quinta. Mark’s mountain-focused photograph shows their rugged face above the wider PGA WEST landscape, with Signature toward the right side of the frame.

This image is a regional setting view rather than a promise of the outlook from every Signature home. Orientation, neighboring rooflines, landscaping and the position of the outdoor living area determine how the mountains are experienced from an individual property.

HOA costs and vacation-rental considerations

Association obligations need to be matched to the actual home and its ownership form. Current assessments, included services, exterior-maintenance responsibilities, transfer charges and any special assessments should come from the property’s current association documents. A fee quoted for another PGA WEST neighborhood may describe a different arrangement.

Signature also has a distinctive place in La Quinta’s short-term vacation-rental framework. The city’s exemption list names “Signature at PGA West (Haciendas)” among areas exempt from the ban on new STVR permits. This is not blanket approval for every PGA WEST property or an automatic permit for a home advertised under the Signature name.

The city asks applicants to verify eligibility by providing the exact address to its STVR staff at VacationLQ@LaQuintaCA.gov. Association approval and current operating requirements also matter. A prior rental listing alone does not establish future permission or income.

Who this setting may suit

Signature is a useful starting point for people seeking a relatively recent home in south La Quinta, a resident recreation hub and proximity to PGA WEST golf. It offers both the quieter scale of an individual residential street and the wider setting of courses, lakes and mountains.

The most meaningful comparison is between specific homes: attached or detached, single-story or two-story, interior or golf-facing, private pool or community-pool use. The Community Explorer provides a broader starting point for comparing neighborhoods across the valley.

Frequently asked questions

Is PGA West Signature the same as all of PGA WEST?

No. Signature is a specific residential community within the larger PGA WEST setting. Its home collections, association arrangements and rental eligibility should be considered separately.

Are all Signature homes detached and single-story?

No. Signature includes attached and detached homes, with both single-story and two-story designs across different collections.

Does Signature have its own community pool and fitness center?

Yes. The private Signature Clubhouse includes a community pool, fitness facilities, outdoor barbecues and meeting spaces. Confirm current owner, tenant and guest rules with the association.

Does buying a home automatically include every PGA WEST amenity?

No universal entitlement should be assumed. Signature resident facilities, resort golf bookings and private-club privileges have separate access arrangements; current property and membership terms control.

Can a Signature home be rented for short stays?

Potentially. La Quinta’s exemption list specifically names Signature at PGA West (Haciendas). The city must verify the exact address, and current city and association requirements must be satisfied.

Are these homes currently listed for sale?

The photographs document the neighborhood on November 5, 2026. They do not indicate that a photographed home is available for sale or rent.
