PGA West Nicklaus Private is the residential area associated with the Jack Nicklaus Private Course in south La Quinta. Its setting combines mature palms, tile-roof homes, broad fairways and water, with the Santa Rosa Mountains rising beyond the wider PGA WEST landscape.

These original aerial photographs by Mark Miller were captured on November 5, 2026. They show the Nicklaus Residential entrance, the surrounding golf landscape and the neighborhood’s relationship to PGA Boulevard.

Nicklaus Private, Nicklaus Residential and the HOA

Nicklaus Private is the neighborhood name used in our PGA WEST home buying study guide and Bloom home search. Jack Nicklaus Private is the label on Mark’s PGA WEST map. The entrance photographed here is signed Nicklaus Residential.

Those labels describe related parts of the same setting, but a neighborhood name is not the legal name of an association. PGA WEST’s residential information places homes around Nicklaus Private within Residential Association II, often called Res 2. The Master Association separately handles shared services such as residential entry gates and community security.

Nicklaus Tournament is a different residential and golf-course area. A listing or map search should retain the Private or Tournament distinction. The legal association, current assessment and maintenance responsibilities must be established for the particular home.

The entrance and surrounding streets

The palm-lined Nicklaus Residential gate opens from PGA Boulevard into the neighborhood. The aerial view shows how the entrance relates to residential streets, golf corridors and homes across the boulevard. Visitors should arrange access for the specific home or destination before arriving.

The PGA WEST community map is useful for following the roads and distinguishing residential sections. Its shaded neighborhood areas are orientation aids, not a substitute for recorded property boundaries.

Homes, outdoor space and golf scenery

The photographs show a landscape shaped by the golf course: homes line curving streets and face different combinations of fairways, water, neighboring roofs and mature landscaping. Many of the visible homes have low stucco profiles and tile roofs; some outdoor areas include private pools.

A fairway-facing patio and an interior lot can offer quite different experiences. Cart-path placement, nearby greens, landscaping and neighboring windows affect privacy and activity. The useful comparison is the actual home and its outlook, rather than assuming every address under the same neighborhood label is equivalent.

The lakes and the wider PGA WEST setting

Golf-course lakes add reflective open space to the landscape near the Nicklaus residential entrance. This view brings water, greens, fairways and homes into one composition. The photograph does not establish ownership or maintenance responsibility for the water itself.

The broader panorama includes neighboring PGA WEST areas as well as the Nicklaus entrance and homes beyond it. It is retained as a wider location view, rather than labeling every home and golf feature in the frame as Nicklaus Private.

Club access and ownership

The Nicklaus Private Course is part of PGA WEST’s private golf offering. A home beside it does not, by itself, establish playing privileges or access to the club’s other facilities. Current membership options, owner and tenant eligibility, and any transfer arrangement need to be confirmed with the club.

Association services also depend on the specific property. Attached-home and detached-home responsibilities can differ, and the quoted assessment should be checked for included Master Association charges. The full PGA WEST study guide explains the distinctions and presents market evidence with its own reporting dates.

Frequently asked questions

What name should I use for this neighborhood?

PGA West Nicklaus Private matches our Bloom search page and the Nicklaus Private name in the PGA WEST study guide. The photographed gate says Nicklaus Residential.

Is this the same as Nicklaus Tournament?

No. Nicklaus Private and Nicklaus Tournament are separate course and residential-area labels. Keep the distinction when comparing homes or using the map.

Which HOA is associated with Nicklaus Private?

PGA WEST’s residential information places homes at the Nicklaus Private course in Residential Association II, commonly called Res 2. Confirm the legal association and current obligations for the actual property.

Does homeownership include private golf?

Do not assume that a golf-course address includes membership. Playing rights and club amenities follow the current membership arrangement, separately from residential ownership.

Do the photographs show homes for sale?

They document the area on November 5, 2026, rather than identifying available listings. View current Nicklaus Private listings on Bloom.
