Trilogy Golf Club at La Quinta

The Trilogy Golf Club at La Quinta is a recently renovated public course in the Coachella Valley offering a true championship-level experience. One of fewer than 100 former PGA Tour venues open to the public, it previously hosted the Skins Game and underwent a multi-million-dollar restoration after a three-year closure, including rebuilt greens, bunkers, and modernized infrastructure.

Designed by Gary Panks with renovation support from Gary Broly, the course emphasizes fairness, accessibility, and enjoyment. Open fairways, manageable rough, limited penal hazards, and varied elevations make the layout challenging yet playable for all skill levels. Water hazards are used strategically, mainly on the back nine, and the design follows a “what you see is what you get” philosophy.

Seven tee options accommodate everyone, from championship Skins Tees (7,000–7,115 yards) to forward tees around 4,310 yards. The signature hole is the par-3 17th, known as “Tiger’s Waterloo,” requiring a full carry over water.

All greens were rebuilt and reseeded with MiniVerde Bermuda, producing firm, fair putting surfaces that typically run around 11 on the stimp. The course targets a four-hour pace of play, includes carts with green fees, allows walking, and enforces standard golf attire. Dynamic pricing applies, with public tee times available up to 30 days in advance and resident discounts. New dining and retail amenities are coming soon.
