
Klipspringer
Key Characteristics:
- Speed and Agility: Klipspringers are incredibly agile and sure-footed, adapted to living in rocky, mountainous terrains. They can leap onto narrow ledges and navigate steep, rocky slopes with ease.
- Distinctive Appearance: Klipspringers are small antelopes, standing about 50-60 cm (20-24 inches) at the shoulder. They have a stocky build, coarse, speckled brown-gray fur, and short, sharp horns in both males and females.
- Unique Adaptations: Their hooves are specially adapted to grip rocky surfaces, and they often stand on the tips of their hooves to get a better grip on the uneven terrain.
