Where Is Trilogy Polo Club? A Buyer’s Guide to the Location
Old Town dining, Palm Desert connections and equestrian outings from south Indio.
Trilogy Polo Club sits in south Indio, along Avenue 52 at the La Quinta border. The city on the mailing address tells only part of the story. Everyday life here can move easily between Indio, Old Town La Quinta, the Highway 111 shopping corridor and the equestrian venues farther southeast.
What I appreciate about this location is the range of places within a practical drive. Old Town can be a regular dinner destination. Groceries do not require a major outing. Palm Desert is accessible for shopping and appointments, while the Desert International Horse Park adds a distinctive seasonal experience close to home.
The tradeoff is the setting itself. This is a more connected south-valley address than a foothill retreat. Mountain views are available, especially from walks and the clubhouse, but they are less consistently dramatic than at Trilogy La Quinta. The useful question is how the surrounding places fit the week someone wants to live.
- Trilogy Polo Club is in south Indio at the La Quinta border, with its principal guest approach from Avenue 52 onto Polo Club Drive.
- Old Town La Quinta is about 4.9 road miles from that gate; allow roughly 10–15 minutes for a normal drive.
- The I-10 / Monroe interchange is about 5.2 road miles away, while El Paseo is about 13 miles and the PSP terminal about 23 miles.
- Desert International Horse Park in Thermal is about 5.1 road miles away; event dates and spectator entry arrangements matter.
- Expect a connected residential setting with selective mountain views, manageable everyday trips and extra planning around major festival weekends.
An Indio address with a La Quinta routine
Trilogy Polo Club is at Indio’s southern edge, immediately beside La Quinta. Avenue 52 is the east–west road to understand first. Monroe Street and Jackson Street connect this part of the valley with destinations farther north, while the principal guest approach is on Polo Club Drive.
For many everyday trips, crossing a city boundary barely registers. Groceries, coffee or dinner may take a household into La Quinta; a hospital appointment or an event may point toward Indio or Thermal. The value of the location lies in those connections, rather than in staying inside one city.
This is still the southern Coachella Valley, not the geographic center of the whole region. Palm Springs remains a separate trip. Compared with the deeper southern foothill location of Trilogy La Quinta, however, Polo Club has a shorter approach to several regional destinations.

Old Town and groceries are everyday possibilities
Old Town La Quinta is one of the strongest practical advantages of this address. Its restaurants, patios, coffee stops and walkable village streets can be part of an ordinary evening, rather than a special trip across the valley.
The mapped route from the Polo Club Drive guest-gate reference is about 4.9 miles and nine minutes before delays. I would describe it to a buyer as a 10–15-minute planning drive. The trip from an actual home can be longer, especially when adding internal streets, the gate and parking.
For groceries, Ralphs at Citrus Plaza is at Avenue 50 and Jefferson. Costco La Quinta and other Highway 111 retailers extend the options a little farther north. A household can combine groceries, a pharmacy stop and another errand without turning each into its own cross-valley outing.
| Destination | Approx. road distance | Planning range | Directions |
|---|---|---|---|
| Old Town La Quinta | 4.9 mi | 10–15 min | Check route |
| Ralphs — Citrus Plaza | 3.5 mi | 5–10 min | Check route |
| Costco La Quinta — fuel and shopping area | 5.4 mi | 10–15 min | Check route |
| Shields Date Garden | 5.1 mi | 10–15 min | Check route |
Shields Date Garden adds a local stop along the shopping corridor. For a meal closer to home, June Hill’s Table is at The Polo Club itself. The restaurant is open to the public; residential gate access and private Club membership remain separate matters. Browse the restaurant guide for more choices.
The freeway and Palm Desert are easier to reach
The route to the I-10 / Monroe Street interchange is about 5.2 road miles, with a non-live model time of roughly ten minutes to the surface-road reference. A 10–20-minute planning allowance is more useful than a promise of ten minutes every time. The ramp, direction of travel and traffic on Monroe can change the trip.
El Paseo is about 13 miles away, with a model time of approximately 23 minutes. That makes a Palm Desert lunch, shopping visit or appointment practical, although it is still a drive. The precise office or restaurant matters: an El Paseo destination is different from a workplace near I-10 or elsewhere in Palm Desert.
| Destination | Approx. road distance | Planning range | Directions |
|---|---|---|---|
| I-10 / Monroe Street interchange | 5.2 mi | 10–20 min | Check route |
| El Paseo | 13.0 mi | 25–35 min | Check route |
| Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) | 23.2 mi | 40–50 min | Check route |
Palm Springs International Airport is about 23 road miles from the gate, with a model drive of roughly 35 minutes. The 40–50-minute planning range above is for driving, before parking, check-in or security. Check the actual departure time and airline itinerary separately.
For someone still working, this location deserves a different calculation from an occasional outing. A roughly 25-minute drive each way, repeated over five working days, adds up to more than four hours a week. Test the actual workplace at the expected morning and afternoon times.
A distinctive perk: the horse park in Thermal
The venue is Desert International Horse Park, at 85-555 Airport Boulevard in Thermal. It hosts hunter, jumper and dressage competition and brings an international equestrian calendar into this part of the valley.
From the Polo Club Drive reference, the route to the park’s published address is about 5.1 miles and nine model minutes. Allow 10–15 minutes for the drive, then additional time for event traffic, the correct entrance, parking and walking. An arrival to watch competition is different from a competitor’s stabling arrival.
| Destination | Approx. road distance | Planning range | Directions |
|---|---|---|---|
| Desert International Horse Park | 5.1 mi | 10–15 min | Check route |
This is a meaningful opportunity for a resident who enjoys equestrian sport: attending a show does not require a long regional journey. It is still a seasonal event venue, rather than an everyday public park. Consult the official competition calendar and arrival instructions for the visit being planned.
The horse park, Empire Polo Club’s event grounds and the residential community called Trilogy Polo Club are three separate places. Buying a home at Trilogy does not establish riding, stabling or event privileges at the other venues.
Mountain views take a little more looking
My perspective is that mountain views are less dramatic and less consistently available here than in some communities closer to the foothills. Polo Club sits farther out on the valley floor, and there is no community golf course threading broad fairways between the neighborhoods.
That changes the sight lines. From a patio or living-room window, neighboring homes, walls and landscaping may fill more of the foreground. Along a walking route, near an open area or at the clubhouse, the view can open up. The Club’s position on a gentle rise is part of its appeal.
For buyers who want mountains to be part of the daily experience, I would walk the neighborhood and spend time at the Club, then return to the actual home. A pleasant view on a community walk is different from an unobstructed view from the kitchen or backyard.
Some homes beside the separately operated Plantation Golf Club may have a different open-space outlook. That neighboring course is not a Trilogy amenity. The home buying guide explains the community and membership distinctions.
Wind and event weekends deserve context
South of the main northern wind corridor
Locals often describe this south-valley area as outside the main wind corridor associated with the San Gorgonio Pass and the northern I-10 corridor. That is how I place Polo Club in the broader valley conversation.
It is a relative local observation, not a line on a weather map. Polo Club can still be breezy, and regional wind events or dust can affect the community. It should not be assumed to have the same shelter as a home tucked against the foothills. Patio orientation, walls and nearby open land make a difference.
Festival proximity works both ways
Living near Empire Polo Club puts major events close by. It also means the occasional week has a different traffic pattern from an ordinary Tuesday. The City of Indio’s 2026 festival traffic plan identified closures and restrictions affecting nearby roads, including parts of Monroe and Avenue 50.
The useful habit is to check the current event plan, choose the permitted gate and allow extra time. Do not judge the whole year by one festival weekend—or assume the quiet-weekday route remains unchanged during Coachella or Stagecoach. Event sound and activity also deserve a visit to the specific home if they are important to the household.
Separate a local appointment from a hospital trip
JFK Memorial Hospital is in Indio, north of the community. Eisenhower’s Argyros Health Center is an outpatient destination in La Quinta. The Eisenhower hospital campus is farther northwest in Rancho Mirage. Those are different journeys even when the appointment conversation uses the same health-system name.
| Destination | Approx. road distance | Planning range | Directions |
|---|---|---|---|
| JFK Memorial Hospital | 3.1 mi | 10–15 min | Check route |
| Eisenhower Argyros Health Center | 7.1 mi | 15–20 min | Check route |
| Eisenhower Health | 16.3 mi | 30–40 min | Check route |
Confirm the physician’s building and suite before timing a trip. These ranges describe ordinary travel, not emergency response, provider availability or appointment access.
A week can stretch in several directions
A La Quinta-centered day might pair a meal in Old Town with La Quinta Museum, a class at Old Town Artisan Studios or a walk. The Cove hiking guide adds mountain outings, while La Quinta Resort offers another dining destination.
For golf, Indian Wells Golf Resort is a separate public option, about 9.3 road miles from the guest-gate reference. Tee times, rates and access are arranged with the resort. The advantage of Polo Club’s location is the ability to choose these outings while retaining a social and recreational base at home.
Private Club access depends on membership; it should not be assumed to accompany every home in the same way. Trilogy Polo Club also contains both age-qualified and all-ages neighborhoods. Read the HOA and Club membership guide alongside the location discussion.
Test the location with a three-stop drive
Try the ordinary week first: the grocery store, Highway 111 and Old Town. Then try the trip that makes this location distinctive for the household—perhaps a horse-show day or regular Palm Desert appointment.
Try the location for yourself
Build a three-stop scouting drive
Start and finish at the Polo Club Drive guest-gate reference. Stops follow the order selected; the route is not optimized.
Open this drive in Google MapsRepeat any important drive at the time it would normally happen. Include the actual home-to-gate journey and the return trip, and check whether a different resident gate would change the routine.
Polo Club’s location makes the strongest case for someone who wants a range of south-valley options within reach: La Quinta dining, Indio services, equestrian events and practical access toward Palm Desert. Someone whose first priority is a close mountain backdrop or whose days revolve around Palm Springs may weigh the same address differently.

Drive method and limits
Distances and non-live model durations use OSRM / OpenStreetMap from the same Polo Club Drive / Avenue 52 guest gate. Planning ranges allow additional time and are not live forecasts. The freeway calculation targets the Monroe Street surface road, rather than an eastbound freeway camera location that could force an unnecessarily long approach. A particular home, permitted gate, ramp, time of day or festival plan can change the journey.
El Paseo is an area reference, and the Costco pin is at its fuel station beside the warehouse. The horse-park pin uses the official street address; event-specific gate and parking instructions take precedence. No map pin establishes private access, ownership rights or guaranteed views.
