Rancho Mirage Country Club is an established gated residential community near Bob Hope Drive and Frank Sinatra Drive. Its roughly 266 homes sit among lakes, mature trees and the open landscape of a former 18-hole golf layout. Red-tile roofs, palms and long views give the neighborhood a distinctive setting within Rancho Mirage.
The name needs a little context: the residential community continues, but golf here has changed significantly. Understanding the homes, the association and the current golf arrangements as separate pieces is central to understanding this place.
Homes around lakes and open landscape
Mark Miller’s aerial photographs show how the residences follow the internal streets and edges of the open space. The closer views capture patios, garages, varied roof forms and mature planting; some homes also have rooftop solar panels.
Properties here are commonly marketed as condominiums, even where a residence has the appearance of an individual house. The legal ownership structure and the association’s maintenance responsibilities therefore matter alongside the floor plan. Exterior appearance alone does not establish what the owner must maintain.
A lake outlook, a nearby pool and a position farther inside the neighborhood can produce different day-to-day experiences. Patio privacy, the direction of afternoon sun and the condition of outdoor improvements deserve attention at the individual home.
Golf history and present-day access
The original 18-hole course closed in 2015. A January 2025 report, quoting the homeowners association president, described the restoration of ten holes around the community’s perimeter while the former interior holes became open space. At the time of that report, play was limited to members and their families.
That is a dated account, not confirmation of today’s operating schedule. Current course access, membership eligibility, fees and maintenance arrangements should be established directly with the association before golf is treated as part of a home purchase. Older descriptions of a fully operating 18-hole, semi-private country club do not capture this later history.
Residential recreation and association responsibilities
Shared pools and spas are among the residential amenities, and one pool area is visible in the closer aerial photograph. Individual properties may have additional outdoor features.
The association’s current documents establish which services and exterior components its assessments cover. For a condominium purchase here, the useful questions concern the actual division of responsibility for roofs, painting, landscaping, insurance and common facilities, together with reserves and any approved assessments. These should be checked for the specific property rather than inferred from a neighboring listing.
Between Cotino and established Rancho Mirage
The wide photographs place the neighborhood in its larger surroundings. Cotino lies to the north; the fourth image shows its lagoon and developing streets beyond Rancho Mirage Country Club’s homes. They are separate communities with separate ownership and amenity arrangements.
Bob Hope Drive connects this part of Rancho Mirage with the Eisenhower Health area and destinations farther south. For an overview of nearby shopping, healthcare and regional trips, the Cotino location guide provides useful context. Its travel estimates begin at a Cotino reference point, so they should not be treated as drive times from a Rancho Mirage Country Club home.
The Gelson’s Market guide documents one grocery option along Bob Hope Drive. Explore the Rancho Mirage collection for more local places and photography.
About these photographs
All four images were captured by Mark Miller on October 13, 2026. The featured photograph focuses on the homes, palms, lake and nearby pool. The wider overview shows the community layout; the remaining views document residential details and the relationship with Cotino.
The photographs record the appearance of the landscape on that date. Turf color alone does not establish whether a course is operating, seasonally maintained or permanently closed.

Golf history and photo notes
The dated golf-history account above comes from a January 30, 2025 report quoting the Rancho Mirage Country Club HOA president.
