Welcome

A palm-lined corner of Washington Street and Avenue 41 is home to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Bermuda Dunes. Mark Miller’s aerial photographs show the tile-roofed meetinghouse, its surrounding grounds and the parking area before you arrive. This guide brings together practical visit information and the Church’s own explanation of Sunday worship.

Plan your first Sunday

The Bermuda Dunes Ward currently lists Sunday service at 9:00 a.m. at 40840 Washington Street, Bermuda Dunes, CA 92203. Check the official ward page before leaving, especially around holidays or special meetings. This is the listed time for that congregation; it is not a complete schedule for every group that may use the building.

  • Allow about two hours for the worship meeting and a class.
  • Arrive a little early. Ten to fifteen minutes gives you time to park, find the entrance and ask where to sit.
  • Come as you are. Visitors may attend without being members, and participation is optional.
  • Weekday visits: the official location page lists Monday through Saturday as by appointment only.

For current arrangements, call the number on the official location listing: (760) 619-9496. Ask about the service you plan to attend, language, entrance and any assistance you need.

Map, parking and finding the entrance

The meetinghouse stands beside the Washington Street–Avenue 41 intersection. Use the street address in your navigation app and follow the marked driveway access. The photographs show off-street parking beside the building, including marked accessible stalls. They are a visual orientation, not confirmation that a particular gate or door will be open.

Get directions to the meetinghouse

If you need a step-free route, an accessible restroom, hearing support or help finding a seat, contact the congregation first so someone can explain the current arrangements. Specific interior accessibility features have not been independently verified for this guide. In hot weather, give yourself time to move comfortably from the car to the building.

What happens during worship?

The main gathering is called sacrament meeting. Expect hymns, prayers and talks given by members of the congregation. The sacrament uses bread and water to remember Jesus Christ. Guests may observe; you can pass the tray along if you prefer not to participate. The Church describes its services as a time for worship, reflection and learning together.

A second period offers smaller classes for adults, youth and children. Ask a greeter or member where your group meets. You do not need to know the terminology or arrive with a prepared contribution.

Children, clothing and coming on your own

Families attend the main service together. During class time, children and teenagers have age-appropriate groups; ask about the arrangements for your child’s age. For an infant or a child who needs a break, ask a member where your family can be comfortable.

Dress shirts, ties, slacks, skirts and dresses are common, but the Church welcomes visitors in clothing they feel comfortable wearing. There is no requirement to speak, answer questions or sing. The Church also says visitors are not asked for donations during the service.

Coming alone is welcome. If you would feel more at ease meeting someone first, the Church offers a way to arrange for missionaries to meet you. That is optional.

A meetinghouse in the neighborhood

The low rooflines, pale exterior walls, palms and planted grounds make this building recognizable from Washington Street. The October 29, 2026 photographs give you three complementary views: a close architectural view, a wider look at the parking and surrounding streets, and the opposite side of the building. They document the exterior; they do not represent a tour of its interior.

For congregation activities, appointments or questions about using the building, speak with the church directly. Desert Oasis Insider provides this independent local guide and photography; it does not manage the congregation or its calendar.

Before-you-go questions

Can I visit if I am not a member?

Yes. The Church welcomes visitors, including people who are simply curious. You may sit and observe.

Is 9:00 a.m. the only service in this building?

This guide verifies the Bermuda Dunes Ward’s listed 9:00 a.m. Sunday service. It does not establish the full building schedule. Confirm with the congregation if you need a different time or language.

Can I visit during the week?

The official location listing says Monday through Saturday visits are by appointment. Call before making a special trip.

Do I need to bring anything?

You can arrive without special materials. Bring whatever your family normally needs for a two-hour outing and ask for help finding a seat or class.

Where can I find current events and contact information?

Use the official ward page for congregation updates and the official location listing for contact details. Schedules can change independently of this guide.
