The rhythm of the courts

Good games.
A familiar morning routine.

The appeal of PDR goes beyond the number of courts. It is the feeling of arriving, finding your level, and settling into a community that knows how to keep games moving.

In my experience, the organized rotation is one of its biggest strengths. Dedicated skill-level pods and staff oversight bring structure to busy mornings. You spend less time figuring out where you belong and more time playing.

01

Find your level

Ask staff which pod fits your experience. Honest self-rating and learning the rotation make your first games easier.

02

Build a routine

Familiar faces, recurring games, and an established playing community give the club its everyday rhythm.

03

Stay between games

Shaded seating, court-side water, and an upstairs viewing patio make room to recharge and watch the action.

Official club information

Before the first game

Good questions.
Useful answers.

Can I just show up and play?

Confirm access first. PDR is a membership-based club, and non-member options depend on the season, time of day, residency, and available courts. March has additional restrictions. The office can explain what applies to your visit.

Do I need to live at Palm Desert Resort?

No. The club publishes membership options for both the general public and PDR homeowners. Living or renting inside the resort does not automatically provide full club privileges.

How do the skill-level pods work?

Courts are organized by playing level to bring compatible players together. Ask staff where to start, be candid about your experience, and follow the pod’s rotation. A well-matched group makes the games better for everyone.

Are there tennis courts and lessons too?

Yes. The facility has six tennis courts, and the club offers pickleball and tennis instruction. Ask directly about current coaching availability, reservations, and the membership needed for each activity.

Where can I see current membership rates?

Start with our PDR membership guide for context, then confirm the current price and eligibility with the club. Rates, payment methods, and seasonal access can change.
