Rio del Sol is a gated residential community in Cathedral City where established homes and newer construction sit within the same broader neighborhood. Its appeal is best understood at that scale: varied architecture, shared recreation, private outdoor spaces and a setting close to the mountains.
Mark Miller’s five aerial photographs, taken October 20, 2026, capture a community still taking shape. Completed homes stand beside graded ground, newly paved streets and construction equipment. The images show both the lived-in neighborhood and the land being prepared around it.
A community with several collections
Rio del Sol is not one uniform group of homes. Alongside its established neighborhoods, GHA markets four newer collections: Espana, Montecito, Palazzo and Elements. Those collection names matter when comparing homes because floor plans, construction details and ownership documents may differ.
The newer GHA offering centers on single-story plans. Across the wider neighborhood, the photographs show different roof shapes, stucco finishes, courtyard walls and landscaping. A broad community name alone does not describe every property’s layout or outdoor space.
What the October photographs show
- Completed streets: rows of homes, driveways and planted front yards show the scale of the newer residential areas.
- Architectural variety: flatter roof forms sit near pitched, tiled roofs, with courtyards and covered areas changing the appearance from one home to the next.
- Prepared sites: paved cul-de-sacs, graded ground, temporary fencing and equipment show work around additional building areas.
- Private outdoor spaces: several homes have backyard pools and patios, while other yards use planting and open space differently.
- The wider setting: the highest view places the neighborhood within Cathedral City’s larger pattern of housing, roads and mountain views.
These photographs record conditions on October 20, 2026. Prepared ground does not establish a construction start or completion date for a particular home or phase.
Shared recreation
GHA lists community pools and spas, tennis courts, a clubhouse and walking paths among Rio del Sol’s shared amenities. These common facilities are separate from the private pools visible at some individual homes.
Access, guest privileges and the charges that apply should be checked against the documents for the exact property and association. Amenities described for a new-home collection should not automatically be treated as a complete description of every older resale property.
Understand the land and association separately
GHA describes its newer Villages at Rio del Sol homes as leased-land properties. A purchase therefore requires attention to both the home and the land-lease terms, as well as the association.
For the specific home, confirm the current lease payment, remaining term, adjustment schedule and association charges. Those are distinct obligations. A fee quoted for one collection should not be assumed to apply throughout Rio del Sol.
Location and visiting
Rio del Sol is in Cathedral City, along the Gerald Ford Drive corridor, with access associated with Avenida del Sol. GHA lists its sales office at 36536 Calle La Costa, Cathedral City, CA 92234.
Residential visits and showings should be arranged in advance. Confirm the appropriate entrance and meeting point with the resident, agent or sales representative hosting the visit.
