A private wellness retreat at the foot of the Santa Rosa Mountains, with estate-style accommodations, golf, tennis and Sensei by Nobu dining.

  • Setting: 230 landscaped acres in Rancho Mirage.
  • Stay: 22 accommodations across Estate Rooms, Casitas and Villas.
  • Best fit: A quiet, resort-centered escape for wellness, golf or tennis.
  • Plan ahead: A two-night minimum applies; particular programs may require longer.

The setting: a green estate against the mountains

Sensei Porcupine Creek occupies a former private estate tucked into Rancho Mirage’s mountain edge. Palm-lined fairways, gardens and low buildings sit beneath bare, rocky slopes. The contrast is especially clear in Mark Miller’s September 18, 2026 photographs: this is an expansive landscape with a small accommodation count.

The property is wholly managed by Sensei. Its focus is a stay organized around wellbeing, with room to spend time on the grounds and shape your own pace. Travelers planning full days of sightseeing should consider how much time they will actually have to enjoy the retreat.

Choosing a room, Casita or Villa

The resort lists ten Estate Rooms, four Casitas and eight standalone Villas. These offer different experiences, so compare the specific accommodation before booking.

  • Estate Rooms: Located in the main Estate House, with the feel of staying in a private residence.
  • Casitas: Around 600 square feet, with a private outdoor patio and heated spa.
  • Villas: Standalone accommodations with living space and kitchens; confirm the bedroom configuration and amenities of your selected category.

Wellness, pool time and a stay built around you

Sensei organizes its approach around Move, Nourish and Rest. On-property facilities include spa gardens, fitness and yoga spaces and a swimming pool. The retreat offers small-group classes as well as private sessions.

You can choose a self-guided stay with services booked Ă  la carte, a package with wellness credits, or a more structured program. The useful distinction is how much guidance you want: freedom to choose each day, a handful of scheduled appointments, or a planned itinerary. Review the current packages and programs for inclusions, length of stay and advance-booking requirements.

Golf and tennis

Golf is reserved for resort guests. An overnight reservation gives you the opportunity to arrange play, but confirm tee times, charges and any package credits before arrival. The course’s green corridors and mountain backdrop are prominent throughout the photo gallery.

The tennis facilities include two hard courts and one clay court, with guest play, classes and private instruction. Sensei describes the courts as modeled on the professional facilities at Indian Wells Tennis Garden. If tennis is the purpose of your trip, arrange court time and coaching before choosing your dates.

Sensei by Nobu: dining for resort guests

Sensei by Nobu serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, with indoor and outdoor dining and a sushi bar. Poolside and in-room dining are also available. Menus combine Nobu dishes with Sensei’s approach to nourishment.

This is not a public walk-in restaurant. The official dining page identifies it as exclusive to resort guests. Check the current dining information and make arrangements as part of your stay.
