The Caspian floor plan in Trilogy La Quinta offers 10-foot ceilings, giving the home an open, modern feel. Introduced around 2007–2008, it was added to the community after the success of the Monterey floor plan—another two-bedroom plus den layout that became one of the most built in Trilogy. For many 55+ buyers, this layout provides the ideal balance of space, comfort, and flexibility.

Key Features

Golf-cart garage bay
The Caspian includes a dedicated pop-out in the garage for golf cart storage. Because Trilogy requires golf carts and cars to be parked inside overnight—and many owners use them to reach the clubhouse, restaurants, fitness center, and golf course—this extra bay is a major advantage.

Great Room + 10-foot ceilings
The home centers around a bright Great Room that merges the living area, kitchen, and dining space. The 10-foot ceilings enhance openness and natural light. Some homes include an optional fireplace.

Common Modifications

TV pony wall at the den
Originally, the plan includes a low pony wall in front of the den, which forces the TV to sit lower in the living room. Some homeowners like this for ergonomic comfort, while others remove the wall and mount the TV higher—either above the fireplace or on the adjacent corner slanted wall. 

• Solution  #1: Replace the TV pony wall with cabinets on both sides. One side facing the den and one side facing the living room. 

  • This helps separate the den and bedroom.

  • If you remove the TV pony wall and replace it with flooring (open), then the den is now visible from the LR and kitchen. You can place french doors on den, but it still is now involved with the living room and kitchen eyesight.

Round kitchen counter pop-out
The kitchen island includes a rounded extension that functions like a built-in café table. A smaller portion of homeowners enjoy the conversational setup, while others remove it to improve the walkway toward the dining area or backyard. 

• Solution  #1: Remove the round section of the granite countertop. This creates a now rectangular - island slab, almost identical to the Monterey Floor Plan. Three bar stools now face the kitchen in a straight line.

Layout & Living

Primary Suite
Located privately, the suite includes dual sinks, a walk-in closet, and the option for French doors to the patio.

Guest Bedroom
Positioned on the opposite side of the home for excellent privacy.

Den
A flexible space that can serve as an office, hobby room, or optional third sleeping area.

Optional Casita

Some Caspian lots were built with an optional detached guest casita—ideal for long-term visitors, family, or a workspace separate from the main living areas.
